Dry mouth Therapy

The new, innovative product called D.M.T. is intended to relieve the symptoms of Dry Mouth Syndrome, or Xerostomia. Xerostomia is caused by a variety of illnesses ranging from cancer of the neck and/or the radiation therapy for the treatment of the cancer, to the medicines used for treating Parkinson’s disease.

The term “Dry Mouth Syndrome” is in no way descriptive of the pain and misery patients experience at night as the sensitive membranes inside the mouth dry, crack and bleed. Left untreated, dry mouth leads to even more serious gum disease, tooth decay, and infection. Little relief has been available until the introduction of the D.M.T.

This product is especially suitable for Home Care. It is reimbursable by Medicare under code number HCPCS A9155 Inexpensive single cases are available for trial.

The D.M.T. provides needed relief from Dry Mouth by administering a carefully controlled amount of moisture to the mouth all night long. While not a cure, this treatment eases much of the suffering and illness associated with Dry Mouth. The moisture is administered via one of three mouthpieces offered: a foam composite that rests in the Bucosal cavity between the lower jaw and the lower lip, a foam composite that rests between the upper and lower teeth, and a molded tooth guard that also rests between the upper and lower teeth. These mouthpieces and the attached tubing are disposable, but usable for a week or more if washed daily.
